This one had to go out with a few imperfections. My apologies. Time and energy constraints prevent a re-do.

The outcome will no doubt depend on how successfully the US has dealt with the first crisis, now ongoing.
I realize this does not address your question directly, but it is the best I can do on the basis of my present understanding. I hope to have a clearer idea of what will happen in the US in mid-2010 next month.
With respect to the US, at the moment, I am **theorizing** that the US is in for a second major financial "hit" in mid-2010--on top of anything that happens between now and then. The US Saturn return begins in mid-2010.
Also, the Very worrisome Saturn/Pluto square will return.
It appears that India is along for the ride--mirroring/paralleling economic events in the US.
The Capricorn/Cancer axis is straddling India's financial houses, but the reverse of the US.
US 2nd house = Capricorn
India 2nd house = Cancer
US 8th house = Cancer
India 8th house = Capricorn
Also,India's Point of Substance is conjunct the US natal Sun, conjunct the fixed star Sirius--both in Cancer in the 2nd house.
I am presently working on charts related to the financial future of the US.
When do you think that things will bottom out economically in India?
While I was studying the charts, I noticed a profound connection between India and the US. I do not have the charts in front of me now, but it has to do with the fixed star Sirius--a very important fixed star. Sirius plays a prominent role in India's chart and the chart of the US.
In essence, Sirius is behind the long movement toward a truly democratic form of government. Both India and the US will endure a struggle related to the establishment and furtherance of democracy in the world.
thank you so much Carl, I love the way you hone in on the essentials...helps me separate the wheat from the chaffe :)
It's very interesting to see that Chiron is coming to USA as well as India(or is it?). Both these nations will go through a long & painful cathartic process that will mature & strengthen them.
I think I stated above that I was not familiar with the Indian situation and that I was stating generally accepted principles.
After this comment, I certainly do think that your knowledge of certain cultures is not as profound as that of Astrology.
I was calling for a good "balance" between pragmatism & tolerance. Balance is always necessary to do the right thing.
Authoritarian groups often use violence to achieve their goals.
*For example*, they seek to provoke a crackdown on the part of an established government.
The theory is that people will not tolerate the government's overreaction and revolt and/or demand the overthrow of the government. The attacking group then steps in and establishes an authoritarian regime.
There are other possible scenarios, all bad.
So governments and people must be very careful about how they respond to such attacks.
Thankyou Carl !
I cannot claim to understand the situation in India, so I will refrain from addressing it directly.
However, I am familiar with racism, fascism and authoritarianism. "Cold pragmatism" and "root out the unwanted elements" all strongly resemble common racist, fascist AND authoritarian catch phrases.
I agree with you.
At the same time, looking at it's history, one can easily conclude that too much of tolerance and 'love thy neighbor' has brought India down to it's present state from it's golden age.
I think a good balance between tolerance and cold pragmatism is called for.
Based on its chart, I think authoritarianism and intolerance would destroy India.
Thank you very much for your analysis. It's definitely very useful for me.
I am originally from India and I have always felt of India as an immature and impractical peace loving nation. Although I am not an astrologer, I can very much say that it's very much a time for my country of origin to leave it's idealism behind, root out the unwanted elements in society and transform itself into a prosperous and powerful nation.
Yes I was referring to the 5th and 7th solar houses. Chiron in the picture makes perfect sense as it shows were we wound and how we can be healed. The sun, mercury and mars conjunction in Sagittarius on that evening also interests me.Although Sagittarius is the philiosphical sign with its arrows shooting into the future, it is also the sign of the religious fanatic and its expanding energy can be negative. Mars in Sag in particular can be extremely dangerous.
I assume you are speaking of the solar 5th house, Sagittarius, and the solar 7nth house, Aquarius.
Transiting Neptune is close to transiting Chiron and, so, both would have been hovering around the western horizon when the violence got under way.
With transiting Neptune also at the midheaven, my own thought was that the public might never know the truth.
In fact, substantive information re: the attacks and attackers has been scarce, so far.
I don't think people pay much mind to typos on the internet.
P.S I'm so sorry about all my spelling mistakes, I've just read back my text and am mortified.Unfortunately I can't correct them.
I also wonder at the subterranean influence of Neptune in Aquarius.Watching on the telly, the terriorists behaved like they were acting a part in Grand thief auto or other violent video game.Pluto in the critical degree in 5th house suggests childish violent role games, whilst neptune in Aquarius ( 7th house,) suggests a mind set more interested in how they are being viewed(the eye of the other) than compassion for their victims.I wonder how 'real' the terrorist actions felt to themsleves.
Inorder to become a truely emanicipated democacy, India must now address its inherited problems or remain split between a modern India and a superstitious/dogma-ridden violent India. The new moon in forward-looking Sagittarius last Thursday and a spendid link between Venus,Saturn, Jupiter, this week point to India's many friends and help.Pluto has given India a warning and a nightmare vision of what could be, if she doesn't change, with help from her friends, she will.
In the 1947 chart that I used, Saturn is all but precisely conjunct Pluto in Virgo. This is an explosive aspect, especially dangerous in the founding chart of a nation. Unresolved issues indeed!
I used the 1947 date. I, too, have always thought of India as a Capricorn country. However, I have come to trust dates associated with the founding of modern governmental structures.
India, to its great credit has tranformed itsself from a post-colonial basket case to a great economic power, but deep seated problems of poverty, religious and territorial issues remain. Note saturns postion in virgo, planet of karma and destiny and its relationship with mars
I have always understood India to have a capricorn chart. My feeling is that pluto is now making its mark on India's natal sun, threatening its sence of self, identity and confidence.Pluto highlights issues that remain unresolved or have been deliberately left festing and forces transformation and change..
